5-string Openback Banjo A-Scale no. 15-18. A-scale custom model.
5-string A-scale Openback Banjo.
An A-scale banjo is two frets shorter than a traditional open-back banjo. This means it is tuned to A without a capo.
When playing with fiddlers, A major is a popular key for old-time music. The banjo can easily be tuned to other keys, including traditional open G.
The banjo is also a little smaller to transport, which is why it is also called a travel banjo.
The model shown has the following specifications:
11-inch block rim in oak and mahogany
Oak and mahogany neck
Ebony fingerboard
Zero fret
Double solid brass coordinator rods
